OVTCHAROV and EKHOLM clinched the titles in Lausanne

The winners of the DHS Swiss Open in Lausanne are Dimitrij OVTCHAROV of Germany and Matilda EKHOLM of Sweden.

 

In the final of the Men’s’ Singles Event no. two seed, OVTCHAROV beat Marcos FREITAS OF Portugal 4-1 (, 10, 8, -7, 13, 14). On his way to the ultimate stage FREITAS overcame top seed Jun MIZUTANI of Japan in seven games (-10, 9, -8, 4, 9, -6, 6), whilst OVTCHAROV prevailed against Andrea LANDRIEU of France 4-2 (6, 6, -10, 3, -7, 6).

 

At the last hurdle in the Women’s Singles Event Matilda EKHOLM, also seeded at the position no. two, beat her compatriot LI Fen 4-2 (3, 8, -7, -12, 5, 7). In semis LI prevailed against the top seeded Georgina POTA of Hungary 4-0 (6, 10, 4, 6), whilst Matilda beat Eva ODOROVA of Slovakia by same margin (10, 5, 8, 9)
