ECLW Round 4: TuS bad Driburg tests UCAM Cartagena

Round 4 will be held this Friday, November 25th

 

European Champions League Women are continuing by the Round 4, having all four matches this Friday, November 25th: Postas Sport Egyesulet – TTC Berlin Eastside, TuS bad Driburg – UCAM Cartagena, ALCL TT Grand-Quevilly – BURSA BÜYÜKŞEHİR BELEDİYESPOR, SKST Stavoimpex Hodonin – KTS Siarka-ZOT Tarnobrzeg.

 

Defending ECLW champion Berlin travels to Hungary with obvious aim to preserve their unbeaten status. Two months ago Irina PALINA`s side beat Postas 3:1 at home, as Ruta PASKAUSKIENE took unique point for Budapest`s team. After 0:3 home defeat against TT Saint Quentin in the Round 3, Postas seeks victory in order to take bake their chances for the quarter-finals.

 

ECLW newcomer TuS bad Driburg awaits UCAM Cartagena in the Group B clash. Spanish side planed two wins in first two rounds, but after 3:1 defeat in Linz, they are determined to beat German team. Spanish club is a clear favorite, having best ranked ECLW player, CHENG I-Ching (world No. 7), while TuS bad Driburg showed in previous round that has a lot of energy in its squad composed on European junior champion from 2013 Nina MITTELHAM.

 

BURSA BÜYÜKŞEHİR BELEDİYESPOR was considered as a favorite of Group C, but with 0-2 score travels to France to meet ALCL TT Grand-Quevilly (1-1). This is the last chance for Turkish side that has the recently crowned individual European champion HU Melek. Shiho ONO was a hero of the first meeting between these two clubs, providing two points for French side in the 3:1 away victory.

 

SKST Stavoimpex Hodonin (0-2) hosts KTS Siarka-ZOT Tarnobrzeg (1-1) in the Group D match. Actual ECLW runner-up from Poland beat Hodonin`s team in the opening round 3:1, thanks to world No. 8 HAN Ying who won both her encounters, against Lenka HARABASZOVA and Renata STRBIKOVA respectively. Upcoming duel will determine the final status of Czech Republic`s in this group.

Group D, 18:00 CET: SKST Stavoimpex Hodonin – KTS Siarka-ZOT Tarnobrzeg
