Juniors Doubles Event

The Junior Boys Doubles Event has been littered with surprises. Darko JORGIC of Slovenia and Tomas POLANSKY of Czech Republic departed the Event in the second round. Turkish players Abdull YIGENLER and Batuhan ULUCAK created the top rated upset by beating the top seeds. France also suffered- two pairings are out and only combination of Jonah SCHLIE and Jules ROLLAND are still in game.

Abdull YIGENLER and Batuhan ULUCAK admitted they came here to win the bronze in Team’s Event and gold in Doubles.

“We failed in Teams’ Event and finished only ninth, but in Doubles we are now even more determent to clinch the medal. It is all in our heads. Against JORGIC and POLANSKY we believed in ourselves. Short service and contra spin worked in our favour,” said Batuhan ULUCAK.

Istvan MOLNAR and Gergo TIMAFALVI beat Alexandre CASSAN and Joe SEYFRIED of France.

“We are also surprised by the outcome of the match. It is our best result so far,” said TIMAFALVI.

Irvin BERTRAND and Nolan GIVONE of France lost against Luka MLADENOVIC and Ademir BALABAN of Luxembourg. Aliaksandr KHANIN of Belarus and Nikita YARUSHIN of Russia suffered by the hands of Mathan SIMON and Aviv BEN ARI in straight matches.

In Junior Girls Teams Event, top seeds Maria MALANINA and Daria CHERNORAY beat MARKOVIC and SEHIC on their way to the third round. For Lisa LUNG and Eline LOYEN it was also trouble free path. They succeeded against Italian pairings Simona ETTARI and Sofia MESCIERI.
