ETTU Cup Women draw: Second stage colored by Iberian Peninsula

Five Spanish teams and four from Portugal will compete in the Second stage which start on October 29-30th

 

The 26 clubs were involved in the draw for the 2016/17 ETTU Cup Women, which was held today in Zagreb. Forthcoming season will be opened by the Second stage tournaments scheduled for October 29-30th. Half of 18 clubs come from Iberian Peninsula: five from Portugal and four from Spain.

 

Two best clubs from each group will qualify for the Third knock-out phase (November 25-27th). Reigning champion LYSSOIS LILLE METROPOLE from France is going to start from that round.

 

Second stage (host clubs are TECNIGEN LINARES, IRUN LEKA-ENEA, DOZY DEN HELDER/NOORDKOP and TT VEDRINAMUR).

 

GROUP A: GDCS JUNCAL (POR), ISTANBUL BBSK (TUR), ONISILOS LAKATAMIAS (CYP), TECNIGEN LINARES (ESP).

GROUP B: IRUN LEKA-ENEA (ESP), TIGEM SPORTS CLUB (TUR), A.C.D. DE SAO JOAO (POR), A.S.D. TENNISTAVOLO NORBELLO (ITA), DT DIDDELENG (LUX).

GROUP C: SPARVÄGEN BTK (SWE), DOZY DEN HELDER/NOORDKOP (NED), CAJASUR PRIEGO TM (ESP), GDCP MADALENA (POR), G.D. TOLEDOS (POR).

GROUP D: CTT BALAGUER VILLART LOGISTIC (ESP), ADC P. DO PARGO CALHETA MADEIRA (POR), TT VEDRINAMUR (BEL), TTC RAPID LUZERN (AUT).

 

Third stage is initially composed by eight top seeded clubs, leading with reigning ETTU Cup Women champion CP LYSSOIS LILLE METROPOLE from France and 2012/13 ECL Women runner-up BUDAÖRSI 2I SC from Hungary. Other six teams in that stage are: AO DAO TAVROU (GRE), ASV EPPAN TISCHTENNIS RAIFFEISEN (ITA), BUDAÖRSI 2I SC (HUN), TT MORAVSKY KRUMLOV (CZE), T.T.C. NOVI SAD (SRB), ACS DUMBRAVITA (ROU) and TTC KAZAN (RUS).
