Borussia Dusseldorf won the German LIEBHERR Cup

In the high-class clash in the final of the German LIEBHERR Cup final Borussia Dusseldorf repeated the success in the Arena in Ulm. Timo BOLL, Patrick FRANZISKA and Panagiotis GIONIS beat against TTC Fulda-Maberzell RhönSprudel for a fourth time in the row to lift the prestigious trophy. The club clinched 24th title in history of Cup competition after close 3:2 victory.


Timo BOLL once again made the difference. The 3,500 spectators saw at the very beginning of the duel between WANG Xi and Timo BOLL excellent game. It was repeated scenario from six days earlier in TTBL game, when two players went the full distance and delivered a thrilling duel. WANG Xi won the first set surprisingly easy (11: 3) and had 10: 6 lead in the second game with. However, he needed seven set points for 2:0, before Timi recovered to level and win the match with 11:5 in the decisive game.
