Zamek Tarnobrzeg beat reigning ECLW champion 3:1 in the first quarter-final leg

Actual ECLW champion Fenerbahce fell the second time in the knockout phase home match, playing tonight against its well known rival, KTS Spar – Zamek Tarnobrzeg. Polish champion won 3:1, better than it did in Istanbul in the 2013/14 semi-final (it was 3:2), but then best Turkish club continued to the final.

Returning leg will be held on January 22nd. Fenerbahce showed in the past that it knows how to win in Poland, overcoming Zamek in three consecutive seasons, 2012/13 ETTU Cup final, 2013/14 ECLW semis and 2014/15 quarter-finals.

HAN Ying secured two points tonight, as she beat in straight games both, the 2015 individual European champion Elizabeta SAMARA and 2011 ECH runner-up Irene IVANCAN.

Irene IVANCAN got unique point for the host side, against LI Qian. Natalia PARTYKA beat Yana NOSKOVA after full five games of the third encounter and it was maybe decisive moment for the final outcome.
