Borussia vs. Chartres again

The TTCLM draw, which was held today in Bratislava, provides some well known rivalries...

The draw for the Table Tennis Champions League Men was held today in Bratislava. In the Group A, reigning TTCLM champion and top seed Orenburg will play against FC Saarbrucken, SPG Walter Wels and VS Angers. The 2012 TTCLM semi-finalist, German Saarbrucken, should be a toughest opponent to Vladimir SAMSONOV & Company.

The 2012 finalist UMMC, leading by the Japanese Jun MIZUTANI, is the top seeded club in the Group B. Their opponents will be the 2008 champion, Austrian Wienviertel Niederosterreich, GV Hennebont and Olimpia Unia Grudziadz.

Two clubs who managed to win European cups in the previous two seasons are sharing Group C: the 2013/14 TTCLM champion Pontoise and the 2014/15 ETTU Cup winner, Eslovs Al Bordtennis. KTS Energa (Poland) and Werder Bremen (Germany) are also in this group.

Ten times European champion, Borussia Dusseldorf (seed no. 2) will play against the 2012/13 finalist Chartres ASTT (France), Dartom Bogoria and STEN Marketing. It will be interesting to see the games in the triangle Borussia-Chartes-Bogoria, because all three clubs were in the same group two seasons ago (Chartres and Bogoria reached first two spots). German side eliminated French club in the 2014/15 quarter-final.

The opening round of the 2015/16 TTCLM season will be held on August 21-23rd.
