Prepare for Easter at Jersey Open

NatWest Jersey Open is ‘The friendliest tournament with high class competition’ in the opinion of the organiser Chris Band of the Jersey Table Tennis Association. Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands situated off the coast of Normandy and Brittany in northern France.

Enter the 10th NatWest Jersey Open to be staged at the Geoff Reed Table Tennis Centre in St Clement from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th March 2016.

“Repeat entries have been coming in thick and fast for this 10th Anniversary NatWest Jersey Open at Easter part of the Table Tennis England Grand Prix circuit for 2015-2016,” said Chris Band. “Good Friday sees the team tournaments for Men, Women, Veterans and Juniors, giving players something different and an extra day of competitive play.”

The tournament is organised as part of the Grand Prix Circuit administered by the English Table Tennis Association which witnesses a series of tournaments held in various locations throughout the United Kingdom.

“Saturday and Sunday are the standard Grand Prix format of bands and then open singles events”, continued Band. “Early booking is highly recommended to get good transport deals either by air or by sea. Coupled with this we have negotiated an excellent deal with a great hotel very near our purpose built table tennis centre and also car hire with Avis.”

Jersey is a popular holiday destination and late March is the perfect time to visit with the Spring flowers in bloom and the weather sunny and warm.

“Everyone can therefore enjoy some excellent table tennis and couple it with a holiday break in our beautiful island during Easter, which is a perfect time to see the Island at its very best”, added Band.. “Not only this, but all events over the three days carry prize money from with a minimum total fund of £ 2,500.00. Last year’s Men’s and Women’s Singles Champions took home just under £1000.00 between them.

An attractive prospect and of course places are limited.

“This is obviously another incentive for players to book their places early as there is a limited maximum entry”, explained Band. “We will also be offering a masterclass training camp for the week after the tournament with full details of this to be released very soon; I would, however, strongly recommend that anyone interested in entering to book without further delay so as to avoid disappointment.”

“We have 18 new top of the range tables and ancillary equipment all housed in a purpose built centre. We have also just installed state of the art LED lighting and a new Naxos modular floor. With entry fees the cheapest of the United Kingdom Grand Prix Circuit”, concluded Band. “What is stopping you from booking up now?”
