Stoke City have invited DRINKHALL PITCHFORD and WALKER on to the pitch

Premier League football match

England’s top three players will appear on the pitch at a Premier League football match tonight ahead of their European Championships qualifying match against Greece.

The table tennis match is being hosted in Stoke tomorrow evening (Tuesday November 1st) and the local football team Stoke City are playing Swansea City in a live television match tonight.

During half time of the match Stoke City have invited Paul DRINKHALL Liam PITCHFORD and Sam WALKER on to the pitch to be introduced to the crowd at the Bet 365 Stadium. A film will also be shown on the stadium’s big screen to promote the match against Greece.

The three players won World Championships bronze medals this year and will show those off to a crowd expected to be more than 27 000 in number. The players were also all at the Rio Olympics.

Table Tennis England Chief Executive Sara SUTCLIFFE said: “It is wonderful to see our players getting recognition from the wider sporting community and it is good news for table tennis in this country and in Europe as a whole.”

Two weeks ago further collaboration with Stoke City was seen in a table tennis competition for local schools attended by Stoke City’s former Barcelona player Bojan KRKIC and also by England international table tennis player Danny REED.
