Richard PRAUSE returned to DTTB. Long time women’s and men’s national team coach is engaged as Sport Director in German Table Tennis Association.

“We are pleased that we were able to engage our ideal candidate for this important position ” said DTTB President Michael GEIGER. ” In the past as national coach Richard has done excellent job. Further in Austria he also showed remarkable skills as manager and planner with vision and its excellent international contacts deepened.”

Richard PRAUSE left DTTB in 2010 at his own request after ten successful years as a member of the coaching team. He moved to Austria to work in international table tennis training center in “Werner SCHLAGER Academy” (WSA) from the very beginning.

 ”I am very grateful for the five interesting years. We did a lot ” said the 47-year-old native of Oberhausen whose main residence has always remained the Hesse Hanau with his wife Susan and their two sons. “Now I’m standing in front of a big new challenge that I am very pleased. Germany alongside China is the World’s leading nation in table tennis and I will do everything I can to make further advance. “

ESC CEO Martin SÖRÖS said: “Richard PRAUSE has significant role in ensuring that the ESC has become a recognized training center for players from around the world in last five years. He brought a tremendous quality in the WSA as a coach and as a person. But of course we respect his desire to return to the DTTB and wish him and our friends from the DTTB the best for the future. “

During his tenure as national coach Richard PRAUSE has been instrumental in the many medal winning for Germany. He joined the team in September 2004. PRAUSSE was a coach of Timo BOLL and Christian SUSS at 2005 World Championship where they have won silver medal and the men’s team at the World Championships in Bremen 2006 on their journey toward bronze. In 2007 he lead the team when they won three gold medals and one bronze medal at the European Championships in Belgrade including long time awaited first one for the men’s team and repeated the golden triple in next year. The highlight of his career was the team competition at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Timo BOLL OVTCHAROV and Christian SUSS won the silver medal.
