Youth Committee Chairwoman Sandra DEATON radiate with positive energy. Two months before the start of the European Youth Championships in Bratislava  (from 10th to 19th July) all the preparation goes on plan.
“There is a lot of contacts for European Youth. All the members of the Youth Committee ETTU office and the organizers cooperate smoothly. They all keep me up to date with everything what is happening. I speak regularly with Deputy chair Anton HAMRAN. He was absent due medical reasons for a few weeks but he is back and he is all right now. I also cooperate closely with the President of the Association ” explained DEATON.

Youth Committee is mainly about the events but the cooperation with other ETTU bodies is essential. “I am coordinating my activities with the ETTU Deputy President Ivo Goran MUNIVRANA as he is in charge for the development issues. We are looking at coach-education side together. We have University in Nottingham very keen to do coach-education for table tennis and he is involved with Split in Croatia so we have a lot of communication. I am trying to speed up the things a little. As a Chair of Youth Committee I recognize we have a responsibility not only for top players but to coaches and to education.”

In Bratislava final preparations are underway. “They have done it so many time before I do not think there will be any problem. The event will be very good.”

At this moment the focus is on the first European Games in Baku. “Baku is taking a lot of priority now. It is a big event but soon after Baku EYC will be on the top of agenda. For us it will be difficult year but having Slovakia organizing this event we can be certain everything will be done properly.”
