Portuguese President awards National Team

The Portuguese President of the Republic Aníbal CAVACO Silva honoured the male national team crowned European Champions at the tournament held in September in Portugal. The award ceremony took place last Monday at the official House of the President.

The athletes Marcos FREITAS Tiago APOLONIA João MONTEIRO João GERALDO and Diogo CHEN were awarded the degree of Commander of the Order of Infante D. Henrique.

Four players have been present at the ceremony Diogo CHEN (away in Shangai at the Junior World Championships) was represented at the by his father CHEN Shi Shao.

The national team coach Peter RUFINO and the President of the Portuguese Table Tennis Federation Pedro MOURA were awarded the Medal of the Order of Merit.
