Fakel Gazproma Orenburg brought back the crown in Russian table tennis beating twice UMMC in the final of national championship – 4:3 and 4:2. Verkhnaya Pyshma side was better last year in the “Classic” of Russian Premier League but this time Vladimir SAMSONOV & Co. lifted the trophy.

The final tournament of 2013/14 Russian Premier League was held in the city Vidnoe in Moscow Region. Orenburg eliminated first Svyazist (4:0) in the quarter final than it beat Magistral (two games 4:1 4:0) and finally for the crown UMMC (4:3 4:2). Thus Fakel Gazproma became the most successful club in Russian championship ever winning its 6th title.

UMMC led in 1st final game 3:2 but Alexey SMIRNOV leveled against TAN Ruiwu and Vladimir SAMSONOV secured the win beating Alexander SHIBAEV.

In the second final clash after six encounters the result was 3:3. SAMSONOV secured new victory for his side defeating Japanese MIZUTANI.

These two clubs met recently in the semi-final of 2013/14 Men`s European Champions League as Orenburg progressed in the final where it was beaten by French AS Pontoise Cergy.
