Five world’s no. 1 in El Prat de Llobregat

From 20th to 22th El Prat de Llobregat will be the European capital for table tennis for disable thanks to the Para Table Tennis Spanish Open. This international tournament is cataloged as Factor 20 by ITTF and the players will be able to score the points for World Championship and Paralympics Games.

That gathered a great number of players. The entries were closed with 135 participants from 24 countries with representatives from Korea Singapore or Philippines.

“This is a very important for the Para Table Tennis here. Spain gives great effort in that direction. We want to be good organizers since we already organized international competitions like Young Spanish Open World Tour Spanish Open or preparing European Veterans Teams that will be in Almeria next September. This international competition has the Calonian Federation and El Prat City Hall support ” explained David CORRAL Sport Manager in Spanish Table Tennis Association.

Spain will have 23 players 10 in Wheelchair. This competition will have 5 players ranked at number 1 World Ranking position. This is the last international tournament in Europe before the World Championship so this a great opportunity for the players that are fighting for take a good position in the World Championship.
