WANG Chuqin of China and his compatriot LI Yiran clinched the titles in their respective Boys and Girls Singles Event at the end of the 2013 ITTF Cadet Challenge in the Slovenia town of Otocec.

In the final of the Boys Event WANG overcame Korea’s HWANG Minha in five games. Previously WANG beat Takuto IZUMO of Japan whilst HWANG overcame KWAN Man Ho of Hong Kong. In Round of 8 HWANG beat Darko JORGIC of Slovenia IZUMO prevailed against Aliaksandar KHANIN of Belarus and WANG beat Tomas POLANSKY of Czech Republic.

LI YIran of China overcame Mima ITO of Japan at the final stage of the Girls Singles Event after seven games. MAK Tze Wing of Hong Kong suffered by the hands of LI in the penultimate stage and ITO beat Russia’s Maria MALANINA. Adina DIACONU of Romania and Tin Tin HO of England reached the Round of 8.
