European no. one Dimitrij OVTCHAROV of Germany and SHEN Yanfei of Spain topping the list of best players invited for the prestigious DHS 2014 Europe Cup. Invitations are made according to the European Rankings in December.

The DHS 2014 Europe Cup will serve as the European qualification tournament for the 2014 Men’s and Women’s World Cup. The tournament will be organized on 7-9 February in Lausanne Switzerland with participation of 12 men’s and 12 women’s players who are eligible for World title events.

In Men’s Singles Event in Vallée de la Jeunesse will play: Dimitrij OVTCHAROV of Germany European champion and Top 12 winner in Lyon. Below him at the list is his compatriot Timo BOLL who won this title last time in 2010 and he succeeded 5 times at the top overall followed by four times winner Vladimir SAMSONOV of Belarus who clinched gold last time at the Top 12 in 2007. At position no. 4 is Marcos FREITAS of Portugal no. 5 is Adrian CRISAN. Listed at position no. 6 is Michael MAZE of Denmark. MAZE made short appearance in Austria at the European Championships this autumn to secure his stay at the World rankings after the long break. At the list are also Andrej GACINA of Croatia Panagiotis GIONIS of Greece Tiago APOLONIA of Portugal Alexander SHIBAEV of Russia Robert GARDOS of Austria whilst Adrien MATTENET received wild card.

In Women’s Singles Event SHEN Yanfei of Spain lead the elite. Four time winner LI Jiao of Netherlands queen of the Event in 2011 last time is at the position no. two. Viktoria PAVLOVICH of Belarus is at position no. three followed by Elizabeta SAMARA of Romania HU Melek of Turkey LIU Jia of Austria reigning champion WU Jiaduo of Germany Iveta VACENOVSKA of Czech Republic Matilda EKHOLM of Sweden Petrissa SOLJA of Germany host nation representative Rachel MORET and Romania’s Daniela DODEAN MONTEIRO who received wild card.

The winner will receive the check at US$ 8 000 runner-up US$ 5 500 for 3rd place player will receive US$ 3 300 4th place US$ 2 500 5th place US$ 1 500 6th place US$ 1 250 7th place US$ 1 000 8th place US$ 750 and 9th – 12th place US$ 300.

The Draw will be held on 6th February 2014 at 18:15 local time at the Olympic Museum
