Reigning Men’s ECL champion, Russian TTC Fakel Gazproma Orenburg beat French Chartres ASTT all three times in last two seasons, but prepares very seriously for the rematch of 2012/13 final this Friday at home (12h20 CET). All three previous encounters were close, first two in last season’s semi final (twice 3:2) and recent at Chartres, where Russian champion won 3:1 (10:7) thanks to Dimitrij OVTCHAROV who took decisive victory against GAO Ning who suffered very first loss this season.

“In 2011/12 MECL semi-final our team managed to pull out a victory in two hardest matches. Now, the first final match in France showed the greatest spirit on game and a magnificent form of our rivals. Our players managed to make a sports feat and win in a thrilling match”, speaks Vice-president of TTC Fakel Gazproma Victor ANDREEV.

He emphasizes that his club will have a very serious approach to the rematch, despite big advantage in first leg. “And though the victory in the first final match with the score 3:1 and 10:7 on sets, gives to our team a certain optimism before second match, we are adjusted on the most serious fight. This MECL final match causes a huge interest across all Russia. A great number of guests will arrive to Orenburg from the nearby cities and Moscow. It is planned to be more than 4500 spectators at the Sports Palace. The vice-president of ETTU Aleksandar MATKOVIC and TTFR management are expected to come too. Some top officials of the Orenburg region and Orenburg confirmed their presence. The big holiday program which will take not only SKK Orenburzhye, but also all city of Orenburg prepares this day. I am not going to give the forecast about the future winner, but we are ready to this European top again”

Victor ANDREEV said that all Orenburg`s players are healthy and full of determination to win the most prestigious European title for Russia and the native Gazprom for the second time. Participation in the fourth round of the Russian Championship became an excellent rehearsal for TTC Fakel Gazproma. Our team successfully played matches of the Russian Championship and won the right to play in the Superfinal”.
