The European hopes for medal rostrum in the Singles Event at the 2013 ITTF World Tour, China Open, Super Series in Changchun ended on the penultimate day. In the semi final of both men’s and women’s singles Event will play Chinese representatives.

Timo BOLL of Germany lost against WANG Hao in five games and Dimitrij OVTCHAROV lost his encounter in six against YAN An. Alexey SMIRNOV of Russia, won only a point before he withdrew due the injury. He played against XU Xin.

In tomorrow’s semi final of the Women’s Singles Event China booked all four places. The suspense stopped in quarters, when DING Ning beat Korea’s SEOK Hajung in six games; GUO Yan needed five games to beat Singapore’s FENG Tianwei. In other two duels only Chinese players were involved. LI Xiaoxia was stretched to full distance in the match against FENG Yalan, whilst LIU Shiwen needed two less to beat GUO Yue.
