16/05/2010 – German team is in the final stages of the preparation for the forthcoming LIEBHERR 2010 World Team Table Tennis Championships. The team will be completed in Russia’s capital Moscow and that fact put the team very high on the list of favorites.

European star and player listed at the position number three at the ITTF ranking Timo BOLL missed last two editions of the Championships. “The most important thing for me is that I am healthy. I have missed two World Championships in a row; therefore I am really looking forward to participating in Moscow. Physically I feel very well at the moment and there are still some days left to get in even better shape ” said Timo BOLL.

Young star Dimitrij OVTCHAROV is hungry of more international success. “I have Olympic medal but I do not have a medal from World Championships yet. I really want one now. Of course we are dreaming of entering the final and put pressure on the Chinese there. But it’s a long way to go. We are expecting many matches on a 50-50 level.”

In the team are also Christian SUSS Bastian STEGER and Patrick BAUM. In women’s team will play European champion WU Jiaduo Kristin SILBEREISEN Elke SCHALL Petrissa SOLJA and Sabine WINTER. “Singapore will be our toughest adversary in the preliminary rounds. We can play against them without any pressure and I hope we can cause a surprise. Our aim is to finish the group on the places one two or three to reach the quarter finals or the round of the last 16. We will have to be in top shape for all our matches. After intensive practice sessions we are a little tired now and decrease the intensity a little. We hope to be in shape on the spot next week ” said WU Jiaduo.
