LINZ AG Froschberg and SPG LINZ Start New Season with New Coach

Starting September 1 53-year-old Czech Josef PLACHY will succeed coach Zsolt HARCZI who stepped down after 13 successful years with the LINZ AG Froschberg for family reasons.

Josef PLACHY’S engagement has caused a stir in table tennis circles. The current coach of the Czech national men’s team as a player spent 20 years as a professional (WR 64) playing in the Czechia with El Nino Prague in Germany with Düsseldorf in France with Metz and at the Olympic Games in 1996 in Atlanta and 2000 in Sydney.

PLACHY began his coaching career in 2008 at his hometown club Kladno Club. He started as a professional coach in 2011. In 2018 he obtained the highest coaching license from Charles University in Prague. Subsequently PLACHY worked with young players and later as a coach and manager at the best 1st league club in Prague. He then became the assistant coach for the Czech men’s national team. A year later he was appointed Head Coach of the Czech national team at the National Center in Havirov. He has led international camps as Head Coach for the ETTU three times.

LINZ AG Froschberg and SPG Linz are already looking forward to the first training session with Head Coach Josef Plachy on Monday September 2 2024.
