French A.S PONTOISE-CERGY TT recoded opening leg win in Poland

Despite a very brave effort from the Polish team KS GLOBAL PHARMA ORLICZ 1924 SUCHEDNIÓW on their home soil French A.S PONTOISE-CERGY TT recorded a victory in the opening leg of the Men’s Europe Cup quarterfinal. PARK Jeongwoo gave the hosts a dream start and both Robert FLORAS and Piotr CYRNEK put Mehdi BOULOUSSA and Flavio MOURIER under severe pressure. However the French players prevailed after two five-game duels with Mehdi recording two wins.

The hosts admitted that the French side were the favorites but reminded everyone that they had come a long way to reach the quarters.

“In 2017 we started playing in the lowest division the Second League in our region in Poland. In a short period of time we were promoted to the 1st League and Lotto Superliga and the previous year we won a bronze medal in the Polish Championship and a silver medal in the Europe Trophy ” says Maciej GLIJER president of KS Global Pharma Orlicz 1924 Suchedniów. This season the Suchedniów team made its debut in the Champions League and narrowly missed out on reaching the second group round among the top 12 teams in Europe.

President GLIJER added: “We appreciate the class of the team from France.”
