Spanish clubs topping the standings in Groups C and D

Spanish clubs found success in their respective Group C and Group D matches held on home turf. In Group C hosted in Linares MUSEO DE LA ALMENDRA FRANCISCO MORALES secured the top position in the standings with two consecutive wins. Meanwhile in Group D taking place in Barcelona GIRBAU VIC T.T. also won both of their matches earning them the first place in the group.

In the ultimate match of Group C MUSEO DE LA ALMENDRA FRANCISCO MORALES overcame Greek PANATHINAIKOS A.C. in straight matches. JIAQI Meng Marija GALONJA and Patricia SANTOS left little room for Konstantina PARIDI Aikaterini TOLIOU and Ana TOFANT. The day before MUSEO DE LA ALMENDRA FRANCISCO MORALES had defeated Romania’s CSM Constanta with a 3-1 score placing the Romanian club in second position in the group of three.

The direct clash for the top spot in Group D between GIRBAU VIC T.T. and Czestochowa Bebetto AZS UJD ended in favor of the Spanish side with a 3-1 victory. Airi ABE delivered an excellent performance against Anastasiya DYMYTRENKO and Tetyana BILENKO. Tetyana also secured a win against Charlotte CAREY and Silvia COLL added the third point to secure the victory. TT Moravský Krumlov failed to secure a win.

In Linares the action continued with matches in Group B. MIRÓ Ganxets Reus emerged victorious in the duel against KTTC AFP ANTWERPEN. DONG Li was the sole scorer for the team from Antwerpen while all three players from MIRÓ Ganxets Reus Pulina VEGA Leili MOSTAFAVI and Elvira RAD each contributed a point.

In Group A taking place in Mirandela in the opening match only Darya KISEL managed to exert pressure on the hosts. Clube Ténis de Mesa de Mirandela defeated LZ LINZ Froschberg with a 3-1 score. Darya KISEL secured a 3-2 victory against ZHOU Jingyi but narrowly lost 2-3 to Annamaria ERDELYI. ERDELYI and Ines MATOS also recorded 3-0 wins over CHANG Ying-Ying and Malamatenia PAPADIMITRIOU.
