Croatia unbeaten in Group A4

Croatia recorded third win in the Stage one of the European Championships and secured the place at the final stage in Malmo. For a second time in this Stage they overcame Spain in Vrsar.

In Sport Hall Saline Filip ZELJKO overcame Rafael DE LAS HERAS to give the hosts the dream start (11:5 11:6 11:5). Andrej GACINA needed one more to overcame Joan MASIP (11:4 7:11 11:6 11:4) before Frane KOJIC sealed the duel with the victory over Carlos CABALLERO (11:8 11:4 11:9).

In Group A4 Croatia is at the top followed by Austria with one win and one defeat and  Spain without win.

“we are very happy that we managed to secure the place in Sweden before the last match in the Group against Austria. Now we will play without pressure ” said GACINA who will travel to Switzerland where he will play at the CCB Europe Top 16 Cup. “We were favorites for the victory but the rankings is one thing and real match is something else.”
