QUALIFICATION SYSTEM – 3RD EUROPEAN GAMES КRAKOW & MALOPOLSKA 2023

The 3rd European Games will be held in Кrakow & Malopolska next year in Poland. There are 5 events on program Men’s and Women’s Singles and Team’s Events and Mixed Doubles. The gold medallist pair of the Mixed Doubles event at the Krakow and Malopolska 2023 European Games will receive automatic qualification for Paris 2024.

The highest placed athletes who reach the round of 32 in the 2022 European

Championships Men’s Singles event maximum 2 per NOC.

Minimum of one (1) best ranked athlete not yet qualified according to ITTF World Men’s Singles

The total number of athletes taking part in Men’s Singles event shall therefore reach a maximum of 52 with unused quota places allocated according to ITTF World Men’s Singles Ranking List as of 28 February 2023. The maximum number of athletes per NOC taking part in Men’s Singles event shall be two (2).

The highest placed athletes who reach the round of 16 in the 2022 European

Championships Mixed Doubles event maximum 1 per NOC.

Minimum of one (1) best ranked pair not yet qualified according to ITTF World Mixed Doubles Ranking List as of 28 February 2023 will qualify one (1) quota place.

The Host NOC is guaranteed the following allocation subject to meeting the eligibility requirements detailed in Section C.

  • Four (4) places (1 team) in Men’s Team event
  • Four (4) places (1 team) in Women’s Team event
  • Two (2) places (1 pair) in Mixed Doubles event

One (1) Male Universality Place is made available to eligible NOCs. One (1) Female Universality Place is made available to eligible NOCs. The Universality Places will be allocated by the EOC in conjunction with the ETTU by 5 March 2023.

On 15 March 2023 the EOC in the agreement with the ETTU will inform NOCs in writing of the quota places they have obtained at the Qualification Event.

By 25 March 2023 eligible NOCs must inform the EOC in writing whether or not they intend to use the allocated quota places and participate in the 2023 European Games.

By 1 April 2023 all available quota places will be reallocated.

If a quota place obtained through the qualification process and allocated is declined by the NOC or is not confirmed by the NOC by the deadline the quota place in that event will be reallocated to the next best ranked athlete(s)/NOC not yet qualified from ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking Lists as of 28 February 2023. This process will be repeated until all places are allocated.
