Day one at the Europe Top 10 in Tours

In Under 15 Boy’s Event title holder in singles at the 2022 European Youth Championships in Belgrade Flavien COTON of France concluded day one in Tours at the leading position at the standings. Today he beat his teammate Nathan LAM in straight games then he overcame Tiago ABIODUN of Portugal in five games and COTON concluded the day with the victory over William BERGENBLOCK of Sweden. At the position no. two is Yoan VELICHKOV of Bulgaria. After he lost the duel against Poland’s Rafal FORMELA Yoan beat Samuel ARPAS of Slovakia and Balasz LEI of Hungary. FORMELA is third followed by Portugal’s Tiago ABIODUN.

In Under 15 Girls Event Romania’s Bianca MEI ROSU justified her rankings after the three rounds by recording all three wins. Germany’s Josephina NEUMANN is right behind her with three wins as well but she came there little bit harder.

Bianca MEI ROSU beat her compatriot Alesia SFERLEA in five games Poland’s Zofia SLIWKA by same margin bur she needed one game more to beat Gaetane BLED of France.

Josephina NEUMANN beat another Germany’s player Eireen KALAITZIDOU in long seven games duel and she needed more seven games to prevail against Portugal’s Mariana SANTA. In last match of the day she beat SLIWKA in five games.

Belgium’s Lilou MASSAR Leana HOCHART of France and Alesia SFERLEA shared third position with one defeat in three matshes.

Europe Youth 10 commenced today in Tours. European Under 21 champion Elena ZAHARIA and Bianca MEI ROSU both of Romania justified their status and concluded the day at the top position at the standings. Flavien COTON delighted home crowd by reaching the top position in Under 15 Boys event. In Under 19 Event Andrea PUPPO of Italy and Iulian CHIRITA of Romania holds the top.

European Under 21 champion crowned recently in Cluj Elena ZAHARIA is at the top of the standings with three wins today. ZAHARIA overcame her teammate Ioana SINGEORZAN Naomi PRANJKOVIC of Germany and Lucie MOBAREK of France. Hana ARAPOVIC of Croatia follows her closely. Hana is also unbeaten after three rounds. She overcame Luciana MITROFAN of Romania Matilde PINTO of Portugal and MOBAREK. Ioana SINGEORZAN is at the position no. three.  

Iulian CHIRITA beat Andrei ISTRATE and Dragos BUJOR of Romania and Adam STALZER of Czech Republic. Andrea PUPPO prevailed against Hugo DESCHAMPS of France Mauro SCHARRER of Switzerland and Simon BELIK of Czech Republic. Hugo and Mauro shares the third position.
