Portugal overcame Czech Republic to record two out of two in Funchal

Portugal recorded second victory in two days of action in Funchal. In the opening Stage of the European Championships Teams in Group A 2 in Women’s Event yesterday Portugal beat Italy whilst today hosts prevailed against Czech Republic.

At the start SHAO Jieni needed to go full distance to overcame Zdena BLASKOVA (12:10 10:12 11:5 8:11 11:8) but for YU Fu who beat Hana MATELOVA it was opposite scenario. YU prevailed in quick three games (11:3 11:5 11:2).

Ines MATOS beat Katerina TOMANOVSKA (11:2 8:11 11:5 11:8) to seal the encounter in three matches.
