Panathinaikos A.C. in wining mode in Linz

In the opening leg of the Stage three in Europe Cup Women Greek Panathinaikos A.C. beat LZ Linz Froschberg in Austria in straight matches.

Ana TOFANT gave guests dream start with the victory over Andrea PAVLOVIC (11:8 11:5 4:11 11:3) before Aikaterini TOLIOU overcame Phantita PINYOPISAN (11:9 11:8 11:9).

“ It was a tough match for everyone but we were very well prepared. Ana started very good against PAVLOVIC and gave me confidence for my match after which I was patient until the last point. In the last match PARIDI won very close duel. In the 5th set she was calm and made really good points ” said Aikaterini TOLIOU.

Club had nice support in Linz.

“We had big support from our fans here and they gave us the motivation to win! Now we are going to prepare our home match that will be very interesting as well.”

Konstantina PARIDI beat Anastasiya ADZIONAVA (11:8 9:11 12:14 11:5 6:2).

“We are very happy about today’s victory we were very motivated to win this match and the presence of our supporters gave us a great push. Now we will prepare for our home match and try to have a great performance ” said PARIDI.

Hosts did not hide their emotions but there is a bright side of everything.

„We are disappointed “ said Manager Günther RENNER: „There is only one positive thing we will go to Athens eat good see the Acropolis and we will face a much better weather.“
