Italian USD Apuania Carrara Tennistavolo reached the quarterfinal

In the Stage 3 of the Men’s Europe Cup Italian USD Apuania Carrara Tennistavolo overcame Spanish ASISA Borges Vall and secured their place in the quarterfinals. In the opening match they beat Borges in straight matches whilst today they needed one more.

Lubomir PISTEJ overcame Alberto LILLO in the opening match in straight games (11:7 11:1 11:5) but he was stretched to full distance in the match against Viktor BRODD (10:12 7:11 11:6 11:8 6:4). Mihai Razvan BOBOCICA also beat BRODD (11:8 11:7 14:12).

Marc DURAN recorded only point for Spanish club. He beat Andrea PUPPO (11:8 11:9 4:11 6:11 6:4).

“The very important victory we made already in Spain where we won 3:0. Today we needed just 2 matches to win. I start the match against Lillo with comfortable win and Bobo played very good against BRODD and secured that we passed to quarterfinals. Pitty that PUPPO lost fifth set against DURAN. So I had to play against BRODD for “nothing “. I tried to enjoy the match make some nice points even if I will lose the match. I was down 0:2 but I came back and won 3:2. It was good team victory and we proved once again that we have strong and competitive team ” said PISTEJ.
