Vladimir SAMSONOV will not play his seventh Games in Tokyo 2020

The TIBHAR announced that Vladimir SAMSONOV’s withdrawal goes beyond the Olympic Games. Legendary player announces the end of his international table tennis career

“Until the very last moment “Vladi” hoped to be in shape for the Olympic Games but due to his long-term shoulder injury it was not possible for him to take part in Tokyo.

Besides the cancelation of the Olympics the Belarusian TIBHAR-Star also decided to step back from international table tennis.

“During my career I always thought about winning or putting up a good fight with any opponent. Unfortunately because of the shoulder problems and many months without training it does not seem possible at the moment!”

In the next weeks Vladi will continue with recovery and therapy and decide together with his family and the TIBHAR executives about the further steps of his life in table tennis!”
