France clinched gold in Cadet Girls Event

European Youth Championships

 

France overcame Russia to secure the gold medal in the Cadet Girls Singles Event at the European Youth Championships in Ostrava. In the final they overcame Russia.

Bronze medalists in the Cadet Girls Event are Germany and Romania.

 

France overcame Russia in four matches. Prithka PAVADE won both her singles against Alina ZAVARYKINA and Vlada VORONINA and she partnered Charlotte LUTZ in winning doubles. In Russia’s team only Vlada VORONINA managed to score.

 

“The last match was very difficult but I was calm. We already had 2-1 advantage and that took all the pressure of me. I was relaxed in my singles but in the doubles it was different situation. It was most important match today ” said PAVADE.

 

In team of Germany played Annett KAUFMANN Naomi PRANJKOVIC and Jele STORTZ whilst for Romania played Ioana SINGEORZAN and Elena ZAHARIA.

France – Russia 3-1

Charlotte LUTZ – Vlada VORONINA (11-7 4-11 11-13 11-13)
