Vaillante Sports Angers TT succeded by narow margin

ETTU Cup opening leg of the penultimate stage

 

French Vaillante Sports Angers TT faced the most difficulties among the winners of the semifinal matches in the Men’s and Women’s ETTU Cup tonight. After five matches they succeeded against K.S. Dekorglass Dzialdowo. Their compatriots Chartres ASTT recorded 3:0 victory in the opening leg of the penultimate stage whilst Spanish GIRBAU-VIC TT beat French ETIVAL CLAIREFONTAINE; Metz TT beat TMK-TAGMET TAGANROG in Women’s ETTU Cup.

 

It was K.S. Dekorglass Dzialdowo who had a better start. Jon PERSSON lost against Jiri VRABLIK before Jens LUNDQVIST – WONG CHUN Ting level the match. Then once again Yang WANG gave guests the lead after he beat Thiago MONTEIRO. However the Sweden’s duo sealed the match with two further wins. Jon PERSSON beat WONG CHUN Ting and Jens LUNDQVIST overcame Jiri VRABLIK.

 

The duel of the two French clubs in Men’s ETTU Cup concluded with the victory over guests. In straight matches Chartres ASTT beat Istres Tennis de Table. It was Par GERELL who gave the guests dream start with impressive victory over Benjamin BROSSIER; Robert GARDOS and Alexandre ROBINOT had to put some extra effort against LI Ping and Paul GAUZY but eventually they prevailed in four games.

 

In Women’s ETTU Cup Spanish GIRBAU-VIC TT beat French ETIVAL CLAIREFONTAINE ASRTT. WANG Tingting was the backbone of the host’s success. She overcame Camelia IACOB and Jeni SHAO. SHAO also suffered by the hands of NI Xia Lian. In the duel against Ana GARCIA Maria DOLGIKH recorded the only win for the guests.

 

It was an easy away win for French Metz TT. Valentina SABITOVA against Carole GRUNDISCH and Elena TROSHNEVA overcame LIU Xin. They all succeded in four games. Due an old injury Olga VOROBEVA did not play.
