TTCLM: Team work provides win for Sporting

First quarter-final leg: Sporting Clube de Portugal – Stella Sport La Romagne 3:1

 

First quarter-final battle between two TTCLM newcomers belonged to Sporting Clube de Portugal thanks to good team work of its players. They beat actual ETTU Cup Men winners Stella Sport La Romagne 3:1 as Quadri ARUNA Joao MONTEIRO and Diogo CARVALHO have provided one point each. It was the worst season`s match of Stella Soport`s CHEN Tian Yuan who lost both his encounters after 7-1 individual win-loss record in the group stage.

 

Quadri ARUNA lost to WEI Shihao in four games of the opener but managed to beat CHEN Tian Yuan in the decisive fourth clash. African player prevailed against CHEN in straight games taking first two sets by a narrow margin.

 

Joao MONTEIRO leveled the score in the second match against CHEN while second Sporting`s win came from Diogo CARVALHO who defeated Brice OLIVIER in the clash between no. 3 players.

 

Returning leg is scheduled for February 9th.
