Another great victory for Sweden

ITTF-European Championships Teams

 

In A Groups in Women’s ITTF-European Championships Teams Ukraine beat Slovenia again by 3:0 and booked the top place in the Group. Previously top seeded team of Poland beat Ukraine 3:1 and lost against same adversary 3:0 so they finished second. Today Tatyana BILENKO Salmiya BRATEYKO and Anastasiya DYMYTRENKO showed no mercy against Slovenia. Slovenia concluded first phase without any victory in four matches.

 

Sweden beat Belarus 3:0 to confirm the leading position in Group A3. Linda BERGSTRÖM Fen LI and Filipa BERGAND created the latest success over Katarina BARAVOK Daria TRIGOLOS and Alina NIKITCHANKA. Belarus is second whilst Russia the top seeded team failed to post any victory.

Portugal prevailed against Switzerland in three straight matches. Swiss team is without victory in A5 Group whilst Portugal has three victories including one over top seeded Austria.

 

Luxembourg overcame Azerbaijan again. They finished at the second position behind Germany. Czech Republic’s Hana MATELOVA Dana CECHOVA and Karin ADAMKOVA beat Spain in the direct clash for the second position. Hungary remained first.

 

Denmark beat Estonia after five thrilling matches. It is first victory for Denmark but Estonia had better match ratio.

 

In B Groups in Women’s Event Bulgaria beat Scotland 3:0 in Azrael and denied Scotland of any victory in the Group. Maria YOVKOVA Kalian HRISTOVA and Ivet ILIEVA are second in the Group behind Serbia. Slovakia beat Bosnia and Herzegovina and concluded opening phase at the top position. They were seeded at position no two but after all four victories against Belgium and Bosnia and Herzegovina emerged successfully at the top.

 

Israel was stretched to full distance in the match against Finland before guests recorded first victory. Lithuania is unbeaten at the top of the Group. Greece beat Norway to finish first part of the competition as second in the Group behind unbeaten England.
