Borussia Düsseldorf clinched 29th title in Germany

Borussia Duesseldorf beat TTC Rhönsprudel Fulda-Maberzell in the LIEBHERR TTBL final to defend the German team championship title. In front of 2 500 spectators in the Fraport Arena Frankfurt Timo BOLL LIEBHERR World Championships quarterfinalist gave his team a dream start which set the pace of the match.

 

He beat Jonathan GROTH despite the fact that between two competitions he was tied to bed due the viral infection.

 

It is their fourth championship in a row : “I’m proud of my boys ” said Borussia coach Danny HEISTER. “Timo’s win was certainly a bit lucky one but what the two Swedes showed was impressive.”

 

The first Swede was Kristian KARLSSON who did not gave a chance in the second match to Fuldas veteran WANG Xi. However Karlsson’s six years younger countryman 19 years old Anton KÄLLBERG stole the attention of the crowd by beating Fulda’s World Championship hero Ruwen FILUS.

 

FILUS was disappointed by the poor start. “Jonathan had a good chance to make advantage ” the 29-year-old defensive specialist said. “We could have put Dusseldorf under pressure. After match like that it becomes difficult especially against a team like Düsseldorf. “
