2017 Asia-Europe Challenge will be held in late October

China to host clash of two strongest table tennis continents

 

ETTU and ATTU agreed on the 2017 Asia-Europe Challenge dates: Sunday 29th to Monday 30th October in China (city to be confirmed). It will be 13th edition of this traditional event and Asia leads 9:3.

 

Last year in the Chinese city of Dongguan Asia won 6:4 led by FAN Zhendong. Two years ago European team went down in history having its first ever victory on Asian soil 6:4. Zhangjiagang China. World and Olympic champion MA Long won both his encounters but his side was beaten 6:4 by European team. Vladimir SAMSONOV Marcos FREITAS Robert GARDOS Bastian STEGER and Andrej GACINA played for the winning side coached by Richard PRAUSE.

 

Europe has two more wins. First one (6:5) was held in Istanbul in 2009 and second (6:4) one in La Roche-sur-Yon in 2012.
