Favorites justified their positions in ETTU Cup

Women’s and Men’s ETTU Cup

 

The second leg of the Third Round after first half was free from big upsets. Favorites from the opening encounter justifed their status.

 

In the Women’s ETTU Cup after opening win in Third Round ETIVAL CLAIREFONTAINE ASRTT justified their dominance and overcame Hotel Patria Chica Museo Priego TM. Camelia JAKOB SHAO Jieni and Maria DOLGOIKH proved too strong. In both matches they recorded 3:0 victories.

 

With two 3:0 victories Hungarian Budaors composed by Mercedesz NAGYVARADI Szandra PERGEL and Timea VARGA in the return leg progressed to the next Round. They overcame CTT Balageur. Home or away Arteal Tenis de Mesa recoreded both time 3:1 win over Austria’s TTC Villach.

 

After the victory over Novi Sad in Spain Girbau-VIC TT repeted the success in Serbia. As guests they were even more effective. NI Xia Lian and TING TING Wang alongside Claudia CAYMEL showed no mercy to young Serbian team. TMK-Tagmet Taganrog also justified their dominance againt Dozy Den Helder / Noordkop. Two leg contest concluded with 6:0 for Russia’s side.ACS Dumbravita lost against Kazan 2:3 in Russia at the end of the November but the team did not show up in Romania so the hosts progressed to the next stage.

 

In men’s ETTU Cup in all Slovaks duel Hontianske Trstany/Dudince beat SK Vydrany in both matches. Oleksandr DIDUKH Erik ILLAŠ Michal BARDON secured 3:1 victory in second leg. Peter MUSKO was the only player to score in defeted team.

 

SF SKK El Nino Praha proved too strong for STK Starr Varaždin in both matches in Croatia and in Czech Republic. Jakub KLEPRLIK David REITSPIES and Antonin GAVLAS succeded both times 3:0. Not as easy as it was in the opening leg in France Istres Tennis de Table recorded victory over DKV Borges Vall. In Spain favorites were streched to full distance. However Benjamin BROSSIER with his two wins and Konstantinos PAPAGEORGIOU secured more matcehs for French side in 2018.
