Nina MITTELHAM Can AKKUZU and Anton KALLBERG secure their places in the semis

Opening day of the Seamaster 2017 ITTF World Tour Czech Open is concluded by U21 quarter-finals

 

Two promising European players met in the Women`s Singles U21 quarter-final at the Seamaster 2017 ITTF World Tour Czech Open in Olomouc as Germany`s Nina MITTELHAM beat Russia`s Mariia TAILAKOVA after full five games. Can AKKUZU from France and Anton KALLBERG from Sweden also secured their places in the Men`s Singles U21 semis being successful against Japan`s Yuma TSUBOI and China`s XUE Fei respectively.

 

At the semi-final stage the 2013 European Junior champion Nina MITTELHAM opposes Japan`s Mizuki MORIZONO (JPN) who overcame Serbia`s Izabela LUPULESKU.

 

The no.2 seed Anton KALLBERG 2015 European Junior champion faces hero of the opening day in Olomouc Chinese Taipei`s LIN Yun-Ju who eliminated host Tomas POLANSKY in five games. The 16-year-old LIN actual World no.210 upset earlier in the day the no.3 seed Kirill GERASIMENKO from Kazakhstan adding one more important victory against World no.53 Austria`s Robert GARDOS in the group stage of the qualification for the Men`s Singles Event.

 

Can AKKUZU meets top seeding player from Japan Yuto KIZIKURI who managed to recover against German`s Kilian ORT playing fifth very close and tense game.
