BORUSSIA DUSSELDORF on its way to the TTCLM quarter-finals

Timo BOLL after Round 3 win against KST ENERGA-MANEKIN TORUN stated that his team managed to “save a little power for the next weeks”

Ten times TTCLM champion BORUSSIA DUSSELDORF won two their games in just three days playing against KST ENERGA-MANEKIN TORUN (3:0) in the TTCLM Round 3 and with ASV Grunwettersbach (3:1) in the Round 7 of 2016/17 Bundesliga. German side actual No. 2 seed in the best club competition of Old Continent now tops Group D with 3-0 score.  Coach Danny HEISTER stated after the game:

“It was a very clear victory for us certainly because Torun missed two good players but it was important to win 3:0. Stefan had certainly the most difficult match against Pavel SIRUCEK. In set four and five however he was superior and has mastered it well. Now we are in a good position for the next matches to reach the quarter finals.”

Timo BOLL beat Konrad KULPA in the opening game to improve his 2016/17 individual score to 5-0. Six time European champion in Men Singles Event explains:

“Of course we were profiting from the fact that the two top players were not there or had failed but we were still concentrating on our game and Stefan (FEGERL) had a bit of fighting not only with his opponent but with himself because he felt not that well. It is good that he won and gets more self-confidence and we saved as a team a little power for the next weeks.”

Polish side couldn’t count on both Tomasz KOTOWSKI and Cazuo MATSUMOTO. Their coach Kazimierz WISZOWATY stated after the game:

„The team of Borussia Duesseldorf was much better than we did and deserved. We paid our apprenticeship with our young team. Unfortunately our great talent Tomasz KOTOWSKI got injured in morning of the match during the training. He had shown very good performances lately. Congratulations to Duesseldorf.”
