Metz beat reigning ECLW champion

FU Yu took two points to secure 3:1 victory against Fenerbahce in the Round 2 of ECLW

 

After more than one year Fenerbahce suffered its first defeat in the ECLW! Tonight Metz celebrated in front of its fans after Round 2 game of Group C – 3:1.

 

Semi-finalist of the recent 2015 LIEBHERR ITTF Championships FU Yu brought two points for the host side while gold medalist from that event Elisabeta SAMARA lost both her matches. Fenerbahce`s no. 1 couldn`t manage to recover after event held at Eketarinburg bearing in mind that she played more matches than any other player (23 in total).

 

FU overcame Irene IVANCAN in five games of the opening encounter while former individual European champion WU Jiaduo defeated actual one SAMARA in straight sets.

 

SuthasinI SAWETTABUT provided unique point for current ECLW champion. She prevailed against Carole GRUNDISCH. Finally FU Yu secured victory for his side after 3:1 win against SAMARA.
