Double triumph for Romania in Shtip

Men and Women team of Romania clinched gold at Balkan Championships

 

Both teams of Romania clinched gold medal at the Men’s and Women’s Team Event at the Balkan senior Championships in FYRO Macedonia.

 

In the final of the Men’s Event rares SIPOS Alin SPELBUS and Alexandru MANOLE overcame Serbia’s Velentin NADNEMEDI Nikola MARINKOVIC and Ilija MAJSTOROVIC 3:1. In penultimate stage Serbia overcame Bulgaria whilst Romania beat Turkey. In the match for the third position Turkey overcame Bulgaria.

 

Final standings Men: Romania Serbia Turkey Bulgaria Bosnia and Herzegovina FYRO Macedonia Montenegro Kosovo Albania.

 

In Women’s Team Event Romania’sDiana LUPU Irina CIOBANU and Alina ZAHARIA overcame Emina HADZIAHMETOVIC Snezana MARKOVIC and Ivona BASKARAD in straight matches. In the match for the third position Serbia beat Bulgaria.

 

Final standings Women: Romania Bosnia and Herzegovina Serbia Bulgaria Turkey Albania Kosovo FYRO Macedonia.
