Belgian National Championships: Strongest Field Assembled in LeuzArena

The Belgian National Championships will take place at LeuzArena on March 22–23, featuring the strongest lineup in recent years, with all top Belgian players confirmed to participate.

Men’s Singles – LAMBIET Faces Tough Challenge

Defending champion Florent LAMBIET will have a difficult task retaining his title in a highly competitive field. Cédric NUYTINCK, a five-time national champion, is among the frontrunners alongside Adrien RASSENFOSSE, who claimed the title in 2023. Martin ALLEGRO, Belgium’s highest-ranked player internationally, will also be a serious contender, despite having never won the national title. A total of 41 players will battle for the crown this weekend.

Women’s Singles – MARCHETTI Aiming for Sixth Title

In the Women’s Singles, Nathalie MARCHETTI enters as the top favorite, having already secured five national titles. Her main challengers include Margo DEGRAEF, the 2019 champion, and Daria MITYUKOVA, a three-time winner. Lilou MASSART is another strong contender, aiming for her first national title, while promising young talents such as Julie VAN HAUWAERT, Lotte NUYTTENS, Lessia LEWYCKYJ, Kathe DE MEYER, and Sara DEVOS could cause surprises. A total of 27 players will compete for the title.

Doubles Events – Strong Pairs Set to Battle

  • Mixed Doubles: The top-seeded pairs are DEGRAEF/KOSOLOSKY and the sibling duo MASSART/MASSART.
  • Women’s Doubles: Defending champions MARCHETTI/DEGRAEF lead the seeding, with DEVOS/VAN HAUWAERT as their main challengers.
  • Men’s Doubles: The pair CLOSSET/MASSART will look to defend their title but will face strong opposition, particularly from PIERAERT/DARCIS.
