Already in the 1/4 final Pinho recovered from a 0-2 against against the Nigerian David ADEOSUN. In Women in the semifinals Sofía ZHANG had to come back after a 1-2 in reverse against the revelation of the tournament the young Balearic player Eugenia SASTRE of Son Cladera. CTT Borges secured second win in Romania
On the second day of the play in TT European Champions League Men in Group A in Romania French AS Pontoise Cergy suffered big blow. Aikaterini TOLIOU comes to Thessaloniki on back of success in Belgrade
For the first time the 2021 POMEGRANATE Europe Top 16 Cup will be played in Greece. As a host representative Aikaterini TOLIOU will face the challenge and meet the best in Europe. Aikaterini TOLIOU admits that her participation in the POMEGRANATE Europe Top 16 marks a special moment in her career and emphasizes that she feels very lucky to be among the best athletes on the Continent. The Greek player wants to enjoy the experience and is preparing with a very good psychology a few days after the success of the Greek national team in Belgrade to qualify for the European Championship in Cluj Napoca. Also the leading Greek athlete of the world ranking notes that it is very important for her country to organize such a big tournament again after many years. “It is the most prestige event in Europe at the individual level as it brings together 16 top athletes. It is a great honor for me to play with the best. I have not met most of them I have played with some I will try my best. I know that I am the last from the World rankings on the list however I will look to be competitive and I hope to qualify one round although this will also depend on the draw. ETTU Hopes Selection camp 2021 in Havirov
The ETTU Hopes Selection camp 2021 in Havirov commenced on Saturday. From the camp in Czech Republic two more boys and two more girls will be selected for the ITTF Hopes Week & Challenge (Amman JOR December 2021). “ We’ve just started our ETTU Hopes Selection Camp in NTC Havirov. Accommodation for all delegations is in the nearby Hotel Rudolf and the training is led by Czech coaches Renata STRBIKOVA Petr NEDOMA and fitness trainer Patrik KAIZAR. The evaluation will be conducted by Domique PLATTNER Sasa DRAGAS Renata STRBIKOVA and me. We have a total of 28 players from 14 European countries and 15 coaches. The camp lasts until September 17th ” said ETTU Development Manager Neven CEGNAR.

Jean-Michel Saive elected President of Belgian Olympic Committee
Jean-Michel SAIVE was elected President of the Belgian Olympic Committee with 66% of the votes against her opponent Heidi RAKELS a former bronze medallist in Judo. Jean-Michel Saive competed at seven consecutive Olympics between 1988 and 2012 and he was also a winner in singles at European Championship 1994. In 1985 Saive was ranked best player in Belgium a place which he kept until 2011 without interruption. In 1994 he made it to world number one for 515 days (from 9 February 1994 to 8 June 1995 and from 26 March 1996 to 24 April 1996). It is the first time that table tennis has a President of a National Olympic Committee in Europe.

The online platform for the tickets of the Pomegranate Europe Top 16 Cup has started
The online platform for the pre-sale of tickets in the Pomegranate Europe Top 16 cup which will take place on the weekend of September 18 and 19 in Thessaloniki opened yesterday. Through the link ; all fans will be able to book a ticket for one day of the games or for both. The organizing committee has announced ticket prices giving instructions on entry requirements based on anti-pandemic measures. The prices for adults are 20 euros for one day of the games 30 euros for both and also for VIP seats (few and closer to the field) 30 euros for one day and 50 euros for both. For minors up to 12 years old the ticket is set at 10 euros for one day and at 15 euros for both days.
