Three days of fierce fights in TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup launched quarterfinalists
The second stage of the TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Men and Women concluded tonight. The draw for the quarter finals will be done on Monday 13th December and it will be streamed on ETTU Facebook (11.15). In Group A in Men’s Cup KS DARTOM BOGORIA Grodzisk Mazowiecki already secured the passage day earlier and today UTTC Stockerau and HB Ostrov z.s. Fought for the second position. In direct clash Czech team showed no mercy and beat adversaries from Austria’s club in straight matches. In Group B Italy’s USD Apuania Carrara Tennistavolo recorded three straight matches win. Lubomir PISTEJ Mihai Razvan BOBOCICA and Leonardo MUTTI overcame adversaries from Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 SF SKK El Nino Praha and SPG Linz. Danish club is second in the group with one win less. In Group C Spanish CTT Borges remained unbeaten. Austria’s SolexConsult TTC Wiener Neustadt is second. Marc DURAN Viktor BRODD Joan MASIP and Alberto LILLO played for the Spanish club. SPG FELBERMAYR Wels and Top Spin Messina Fontalba progressed to the quarterfinals as two leading clubs in Group D. Both clubs started the season in the Champions League Men. Austria’s side is unbeaten in TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup and they were under severe pressure only in the duel against Italian club. On the other side Top Spin Messina Fontalba was forced to go full distance twice. Spanish Real Club Cajasur Priego T.M. also stretched them to full five matches but with Joao MONTEIRO who lost only one match at the whole tournament it was very difficult task. Only player who defeated MONTEIRO was Andreas LEVENKO from Wels. In TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Women in Group A ASD Quattro Mori recorded all three victories. Andreea DRAGOMAN Tania Maria PLAIAN and Rossana Antonella FERCIUG pushed the club to the quarters. From the second position it is Tecnigen Linares who joined them. Another Spanish club reached the top of the Group. Reus Ganxets MIRÓ with Jessica YAMADA Anastasiya KOLISH and Sara RAMIREZ overcame all adversaries even the favorites from SH-ITB Budaörsi Sport Club. Hungarian side led by Georgina POTA reached the quarters from the second position. French ALCL TT Grand Quevilly is unbeaten is all three rounds. Anis SALPIN Pauline CHASSELIN and Samson LI overcame Novi SAD in the last round. However the hosts of the Group C progressed from the second position. UCAM Cartagena T.M. with LI Fen Maria XIAO and Dora MADARASZ is at the top of the Group D followed by TMK-TAGMET Taganrog.
Claudia Herweg is the new President of the DTTB
Claudia HERWEG has been elected with an overwhelming majority as the new DTTB President. HERWEG has worked full-time in table tennis for 30 years including as a managing associate in the table tennis industry. Since 2018 she has been the ITTF equipment manager and has built up the equipment department in Cologne. As an active player newly elected President used to play in the 2nd Bundesliga and worked as a coach with one of the biggest German regional associations. Since Saturday at 4.17 p.m. Claudia Herweg is the President of the German Table Tennis Association. The 55-year-old who was proposed by the five DTTB regional associations with the largest number of members was elected by the DTTB-AGM with 204 votes in favour two against and no abstentions. Herweg is the 13th person to hold the office of president of the DTTB and the first woman since the founding of the association in 1925. She succeeds Michael GEIGER who after six years as a President and previously five years as a vice-president for finances did not run again for an office in the DTTB executive committee. „It shouldn’t really matter that I am the first woman. But we still have to fight for that and hopefully pioneers like me will make it easier for the younger girls” HERWEG says. The long-term priorities of her office: “We have to get better in many areas and this can only be done together. I feel that unity is very important because we have very demanding tasks ahead of us. Together we are much stronger and can better market our incredibly fascinating and multi-faceted sport.”
KS DARTOM BOGORIA Grodzisk Mazowieck moves to quarters from the top spot
On the second day of the play in Stage two of the TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Men KS DARTOM BOGORIA Grodzisk Mazowiecki of Poland already secured the pass to the quarterfinals. Lubomir PISTEJ Mihai Razvan BOBOCICA and Leonardo MUTTI beat Kim TAEHYUN Samuel KALUZNY and Janos PROMBERGER in straight matches and by doing so secured the place in the quarterfinal. Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 recovered after yesterday’s defeat against the leader at the standings USD Apuania Carrara Tennistavolo and overcame SF SKK El Nino Praha from Czech Republic in long distance duel. Jens LUNDQUIST beat Jakub ZELINKA but lost to Jiri VRABLIK. However Michael MAZE showed good performance and beat both VRABLIK and ZELINKA. Mikkel HINDERSSON lost to Frantisek ONDERKA. In Group D TTSC UMMC-ELEM recovered after yesterday’s defeat to overcame Spanish Real Club Cajasur Priego T.M. In five matches. Carlos MACHADO won both his encounters but Viacheslav KRIVOSHEEV Danila TRAVIN and Mikhail ROZHKOV did not other 3 points. Top Spin Messina Fontalba suffered by the hands of the players from SPG FELBERMAYR Wels. Austria’s club is at the top of the standings with two wins. In TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Women top seeded club in Group A TT Moravsky Krumlov lost to Girbau Vic TT and went one step further from the quarters. Tamolwan KHETKHUAN gave Spanish side good opening and ZHANG Sofia Xuan and Charlotte CAREY followed the path. In Group B Austria’s TTC NanoTech Villach lost to SH-ITB Budaörsi Sport Club from Hungary 1:3. Maria FAZEKAS and Georgina POTA showed no mercy against Anna Szofia FENYVESY and Ina JAZBEC only Ivana MALOBABIC managed to beat Helga DARI. In the first match in Group D UCAM Cartagena T.M. overcame TMK-TAGMET Taganrog in straight matches. LI Fen Maria XIAO and Dora MADARASZ proved too strong for Yulia PROKHOROVA Margarita FETUKHINA and Olga KULIKOVA. In Group D French ALCL TT Grand Quevilly is unbeaten after two rounds. Thriller in Spain Serbia showed no mercy as a host
The matches in the Stage 2 of the TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Women commenced today. In Spain in Group A Italy’s ASD Quattro Mori needed five matches to overcame TT Moravsky Krumlov of Czech Republic. Andreea DRAGOMAN overcame Liliya ANDRIYANOVA and Tania Maria PLAIAN overcame Ekaterina CHERNYAVSKAYA to post 2:0 lead. In third match Nikita PETROVOVA overcame Rossana Antonella FERCIUG to change the rhythm of the game. CHERNYAVSKAYA beat DRAGOMAAN to push the match into the decisive encounter. PLAIAN stood the pressure and overcame ANDRIYANOVA. In the same Group in all-Spanish duel Tecnigen Linares overcame Girbau Vic TT. Orawan PARANANG beat Sílvia Coll SOLA and Tamolwan KHETKHUAN whilst Roxana ISTRATE also prevailed against KHETKHUAN. Only point for Girbau came from Sofia-Xuan ZHANG. In only match in Group B today Austria’s TTC NanoTech Villach beat Slovakia’s Stolnotenisove Centrum SKST Bratislava 3:1. Ivana MALOBABIC posted two victories against Martine TOFTAKER and Rebekka CARLSEN. Rebekka overcame Ana Szofija FENYVESY in close five games match to secure only point from the club from Bratislava. Ina JAZBEC beat Dominika WILTSCHKOVA. In group C in Serbia the host Novi Sad recorded straight matches victory over Spanish Museo De La Almendra Francisco Morales. Aneta MAKSUTI Tijana JOKIC and Radmila TOMINJAK all needed four games to succeed against Ana GARCIA MONTERO Marija GALONJA and Lucia LOPEZ CUENCA. In other match Portugal’s GDCS Do Juncal lost to French club ALCL TT Grand Quevilly 1:3. In five games Tatiana GARNOVA gave Portugal’s club dream start with the victory over Anais SALPIN but after that Pauline CHASSELIN overcame Janet EFFION and GARNOVA. LI Samson overcame Raqel ANDRADE. In Men’s TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup in Group A Polish KS DARTOM BOGORIA Grodzisk Mazowiecki was stretched to full distance in the match against HB Ostrov z.s. From Czech Republic. Frantisek ONDERKA prevailed against Patrik JUHASZ. In Group C both matches concluded with 3:0 margin. PTE PEAC Kalo-Meh lost to CTT Borges with two matches went full distance. Marc DURAN beat Szolt PETO 3:2; Sebestyen KOVACS lost to Joan MASIP in decisive game. After Austria’s club has been 2:0 down Jiri MARTINKO pushed the match in opposite direction with the victory over Marco RECH DALDOSSO. In fierce fight Nandor ECSEKI and Andreas LEVENKO seized the opportunity and won. In the match against Spanish Real Club Cajasur Priego T.M only Carlos MACHADO brought the point to Cajasur. Top Spin Messina Fontalba beat Russia’s TTSC UMMC-ELEM 3:1. Joao MONTEIRO was the key to the success with victories over Viacheslav KRIVOSHEEV and Danila TRAVIN.
Battle for the quarterfinal of the TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Men and Women
Just a two days after the World Youth Championships Portugal’s Vila Nova de Gaia welcomes three groups in the Stage 2 of the TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Men. Only group’s D matches plays in Austria’s Wels. In TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Women the Groups are playing in Spain Serbia and Croatia. The 15 clubs are divided in four groups and top two will progress to the quarterfinals. In this stage we have relegated clubs from the Champions League and the winners and runner ups from the Stage one in Europe Cup. The program in Portugal starts with the clash between SPG Linz of Austria and Champions league’s SF SKK El Nino Praha from Czech Republic in Group B. In the same Group USD Apuania Carrara Tennistavolo from Italy will meet Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 from Denmark. In Group A KS DARTOM BOGORIA Grodzisk Mazowiecki of Poland who also came from Champions League will clash with HB Ostrov Havlíčkův Brod from Czech Republic. In Group C Ukraine’s Fortune Kyiv will play against SolexConsult TTC Wiener Neustadt of Austria. In same Group PTE PEAC Kalo-Meh from Hungary will play against ASISA Borges Vall of Spain. Silver medals at World Championships for Samuel KULCZYCKI and Milosz REDZIMSKI
On a final day of the 2021 World Youth Championships in Vila Nova De Gaia two players from Poland clinched silver medals in in the Boys Singles Events. In Under 19 event Samuel KULCZYCKI was halted on the last hurdle in the match against XIANG Peng of China (11:9 11:9 11:1 12:10). In Under 15 Singles Event Milosz REDZIMSKI of Poland clinched silver medal. In the final he lost to no. two seed Sora MATSUSHIMA of Japan (5:11 5:11 11:5 5:11 7:11). Top seeded Felix LEBRUN of France clinched bronze medal after he lost in semis against REDZIMSKI. In the semifinal of the Under 19 Boys Singles Event Samuel KULCZYCKI prevailed against ZENG Beixun of China (12:14 11:9 9:11 4:11 6:11). In the same stage of the event for the younger players Milosz REDZIMSKI overcame Felix LEBRUN of France (8:11 11:6 11:5 12:14 9:11 6:11).
First ever ETTU Para camp in Slovenia’s Lasko
The first ever ETTU Under 23 Para Camp is taking place now in Lasko established table tennis destination in Slovenia. The camp is running by Gorazd VECKO Alessandro ARCIGLI Matjaz SERCER and Sasa DRAGAS. “We have 31 players from 10 different countries in the camp from Slovenia Portugal Croatia Slovakia Italy Holland Germany Bosnia and Hercegovina and Great Britain. It is great to see the first time so much good young Para Table tennis players from different countries together in a high performance camp ” said VECKO. This camp is used by the athletes to be the best possible prepared for the next session to try to qualify for the World Championships in Spain in November 2022. “It is great to see how the athletes and the coaches are well connected with each other and sharing table tennis knowledge regardless from which country the athletes and coaches are. I am sure that more camps like this would help massive development of the European Para table tennis. Alessandro and me were talking with the athletes and coaches and the feedback from them is amazing. Everyone would like to come back again if it is possible in the future.” The players look motivated and train hard and the coaches seem very satisfied with this training camp.
Be part of the table tennis world and it strengthens your personality
ETTU Umpires and Referees Committee organised a webinar for all interested female match officials but also women interested in officiating in table tennis in general. 65 participants from 26 countries attended the webinar and even China Singapore and Iran was present. The panelists Ina JOZEPSONE Rebecca BERGFELDT Kerstin DUCHATZ and Elena SEMENOVA who have achieved the highest level of officiating informed about their career their experiences and challenges. Isabelle BEUMIER guided through the webinar and a lot of ideas have been collected. It was highlighted that being a match official in our sport doesn’t only allow us to be part of the international table tennis world but also to enhance the own personality and confidence. “As match official you belong to a team and you will have a lot of international friends all around the world. All these motivating factors are helping to overcome challenges like time management with family and kids or financial burden such as travel costs” stated BEUMIER. Campaigns and role models like the panelists can be a factor for attracting more female match officials. GREBNEV and SIDORENKO are the crowned World champions in Under 19 Doubles
Maksim GREBNEV and Vladimir SIDORENKO are the crowned World champions. In Under 19 Boys Doubles event at the 2021 World Youth Championships in Vila Nova De Gaia in nail biting thriller Russia’s pairings of GREBNEV and SIDORENKO clinched gold tonight. They succeeded after remarkable comeback in the duel against Csaba ANDRAS of Hungary and Ivor BAN of Croatia (9:11 6:11 11:9 11:7 11:9). Darius MOVILEANU and Eduard IONESCU of Romania lost to ANDRAS and BAN and they clinched bronze. In Under 15 Boys Doubles Event at the top of the medal rostrum are Sora MATSUSHIMA of Japan and Felix LEBRUN of France. At the final hurdle they succeeded against World Champions in Team’s event Ilia KONIUKHOV and Roman VINOGRADOV of Russia (11:7 8:11 11:4 11:3). Romania’s Iulian CHIRITA and Dragos Alexandru BUJUR clinched bronze. In the Under 15 Girls Doubles Event Germany’s Mia GRIESEL and Annett KAUFMANN clinched silver medal after they lost to and Egypt’s Hana GODA and Japan’s Miwa HARIMORO (11:9 11:5 11:7). Bronze medals are won by Veronika MATIUNINA of Ukraine who teamed up with Suhana SAINI of India and combination of Wales Anna HURSEY and Portugal’s Matilde PINTO. After the bronze in the Mixed Doubles Event with Prithika PAVADE Samuel KULCZYCKI of Poland secured another medal. He will play in the semifinal of the Under 19 Boys Singles Event. In the quarterfinal KULCZYCKI prevailed against Darius MOVILEANU of Romania in five games match (13:11 11:5 4:11 11:7 11:8). For the place in the final he will challenge ZENG Beixun of China. Chinese representative overcame Ivor BAN of Croatia to reach the penultimate stage. Vladimir SIDORENKO of Russia was also halted in the quarters after the defeat by the hands of China’s XIANG Peng. In Under 19 Girls Singles Sophia KLEE of Germany Ioana SINGEORZAN of Romania and Elizabet ABRAAMIAN of Russia all halted in the quarters. In Under 15 Boys Singles event two Europeans recorded victories in the quarterfinal and they will play for the place in the final against each other tomorrow. Felix LEBRUN of France overcame Ugurcan DURSUN of Turkey (11:5 11:3 11:6 11:7); whilst Milosz REDZIMSKI of Poland prevailed against Germany’s Lleyton ULLMANN by same margin (12:10 11:8 11:7 11:7). In Under 15 Girls Singles Event Mia GRIESEL and Annett KAUFMANN of Germany Bianca MEI ROSU of Romania and Sophie EARLEY of Ireland lost in the quarterfinal.
