In Czech Republic HB Ostrov Havlíčkův Brod will host ASISA Borges Vall in the opening leg of the TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Men quarterfinal. In Serbia TTC Novi Sad beat Spanish Reus Ganxets MIRÓ in the opening leg of the TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup quarterfinal. Aneta MAKSUTI brought the host two wins tonight. The match commenced and conclude with Aneta’s wins. In the opening match she beat Sara RAMIREZ 3:1 (11:9 11:9 8:11 11:7). In the last Aneta prevailed against Anastasiya KOLISH and she needed one game less (11:6 12:10 14:12). Tijana JOKIC overcame KOLISH in second duel in close five games (5:11 13:11 4:11 11:6 6:3). 2022 World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Confirmed in April
The ITTF Group the Chinese Table Tennis Association (CTTA) and the city of Chengdu have unveiled the dates of the 2022 World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals. The event will take place from Sunday 17 to Tuesday 26 April 2022. ITTF President Petra Sörling commented “I am delighted to confirm the 2022 World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals will be held in April in Chengdu. In these times of uncertainty we are grateful to our hosts who have taken every necessary measure to ensure the successful delivery of our marquee event. The table tennis family is looking forward to a full year of table tennis action after a successful end of 2021 that heralded the international restart of the sport.” This will be the first time Chengdu is hosting a World Table Tennis Championships event and marks the first time since 2008 that China is playing host to a team championships event. The 40 best men’s and women’s teams will be vying for a medal in the new Chengdu High-tech Sports Centre. The event will be put under strict closed-loop management in a bubble format. Moreover the Chengdu entry and exit authorities will assist with visa processing and provide other border facilitation.
Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 holds the top in Denmark and look for good result in Europe
Danish Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 will meet Poland’s KS DARTOM BOGORIA Grodzisk Mazowiecki in the quarterfinal of the TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup. Both sides met three years ago. “We played against each other in the season 2018/2019 and each team won one match but they were better overall and reached the second position in the group ” explained coach and player Allan BENTSEN. What is your expectations for the quarters? “We got a very strong opponent. But my players are all good and if they play on the top level we can make a good match. I think we can get a little more out of the players so if all play on their best it will be good.’ The club did not face any break due the Covid but they had a short Christmas break. “At the moment all are good and we have no problems with the Covid-19. Last matches we played in group stages of the Europe Cup in Portugal from 10th to 12th December. TTSC UMMC knows their adversaries very well
On Thursday Russia’s TTSC UMMC will play against TTC Neu-Ulm in Germany in the opening leg of the Champions Legue Men. “All players are ready for the Champions League matches. We haven’t seen them play for the past two weeks. But at the end of December the team played in the Russian championship. Higly respected coach Zlatko NOVAKOVIC passes away
Born in Zagreb on Wednesday 19th September 1945 Zlatko Novakovic passed away on Monday 10th January; he was 77 years old in 2020 he was diagnosed with brain cancer. He was the head coach of “Mladost” Zagreb for many years during the time when the club dominated matters in the country formerly known as Yugoslavia. Most notably he was the coach of Jasna Rather the former Jasna Fazlic women’s doubles bronze medallist partnering Gordana Perkucin at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games. “Zlatko was my coach at Mladost during the most important years of my development. He created a healthy training environment in the club. He was strict but in a very kind way that is rarely seen in table tennis circles. As a human being and with his ethics there was no match. He was a father figure to many a great friend psychologist and extraordinary coach.” Likewise Zoran Primorac paid tribute. “Zlatko was my coach in the national team a real gentleman! He was always modest never putting himself in the spotlight; his calmness wisdom and mental strength helped me a lot during my career” reflected Zoran Primorac. “A great pedagogue he knew the human psyche and had a very good relationship with the players. He was a great coach and friend. I will miss him a great deal.” Later he was the coach in the German Bundesliga at Bayreuth and Ochenhausen; more recently he spent 10 years coaching at the Aspire Academy in Doha. He leaves behind Amela his wife the sister of Jasna Rather whom he married on on Saturday 5th January 1991 and two daughters Asja and Katja.

Unlike his clubmate Patrick FRANZISKA was stretched to full distance in the match against Omar ASSAR 2:3 (7:11 11:5 9:11 11:9 4:6). Tomas POLANSKY sealed the match with the win over Anders LIND in four games (11:9 9:11 7:11 11:13). “Darko played really good in the opening match he was the better one in this match and the result speak for itself. The next one between ASSAR and Patrick was very difficult and important. Patrick was 3:0 down in the decisive game and he came back to win 6:4. In my match I was prepared. I knew how dangerous is LIND. I was very focused and I tried to put each ball on the table. At the end all three of us are very happy with our performance. We are looking forward return leg in Saarbrucken ” said Tomas POLANSKY.
