Tania PLAIAN gave club from Cagliari dream start with the win over Deborah VIVARELLI (8:11 11:5 11:6 7:11 6:5) before Andreea DRAGOMAN beat TI Hong Loan (11:8 11:4 11:5). Edem OFFIONG prevailed against Szandra PERGEL (3:11 14:12 13:11 11:8). “We knew from the beginning that we have to be very focused on each match because they are a good team. We did our jobs very well we are happy with or victory and we will try our best again on Sunday in the second match against them ” said DRAGOMAN. Second leg will be played on Sunday at 11.
Win for AS Pontoise Cergy TT in their last match in Group D
AS Pontoise Cergy TT concluded the run in Stage 2 of the Champions League Men with the straight matches victory over Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61. It is second win for French team in Group D against the Danish club. Previously AS Pontoise Cergy TT also suffered defeats in both encounters against 1. FC Saarbrücken TT. Although he is not in his best of shape Michael is very experienced. He was top player and it is always very difficult to play against him. Beside my match the other two were equally hard. Both went full distance with fifth decisive game limited to six points. You never know how it could end and i think we had a little bit of luck today.” In the last duel of the Group Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 will play against FC Saarbrücken TT on Sunday. So far Germany’s club recorded three wins whilst Danich club has three defeats.
HB Ostrov Havlíčkův Brod beat KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki
In their last match in Stage two HB Ostrov Havlíčkův Brod secured first victory in the Group A of the Champions Legue Men. In Poland Czech team overcame KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki after thrilling five matches. Previously KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki overcame HB Ostrov z.s. in Czech Republic in their opening match. It cleared all the doubts in Group A. Before the last match between Borussia Düsseldorf and KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki on Friday club from Germany is safely through to the semifinal. Borussia Düsseldorf recorded three wins already. HB Ostrov Havlíčkův Brod has only one win out of four matches and Polish club has two defeats and one win. Panagiotis GIONIS scored twice in tonight’s match that lasted 3 hours and 20 minutes. He beat Dmitrij PROKOPCOV (6:11 11:3 11:3 11:3) and Michal OBESLO (15:13 11:13 11:7 11:9). Lithuanian Table Tennis Association 95th Anniversary
The Lithuanian table tennis association is celebrating the 95th anniversary this year. A large table tennis community political representatives sports supporters and other distinguished guests came to the Novotel Vilnius Center restaurant in Vilnius to celebrate this occasion. The event was exceptional and during it Ruta GARKAUSKAITE-PASKAUSKIENE one of the most titled and famous table tennis players in the history of Lithuanian table tennis officially announced the end of her sporting career. The athlete has become the Lithuanian champion 33 times the silver medalist of the world junior and world student championships won as many as 18 European championship medals (7 gold 2 silver and 9 bronze) and participated in three Olympic Games – Atlanta (1996) Sydney (2000) Beijing (2008). In 1996 she was elected the Best Student Athlete of Lithuania as well as student athlete of the decade (1990–2000). It must be highlighted that the very first Ruta’s trainer was her mother Romualda GARKAUSKIENE who laid the foundation for her exceptional career. A short documentary titled ‘Ruta Garkauskaite-Paskauskiene’ was created by Renatas MIZERAS to commemorate the glorious and victorious sports career of Ruta Garkauskaite-Paskauskiene.
Despite DYJAS’ fantastic wins TTC Neu-Ulm beat K.S. Dekorglass Dzialdowo
TTC Neu-Ulm prolonged their winning row and recorded seventh win in the Champions Legue Men this season. They accounted for Polish K.S. Dekorglass Dzialdowo after five thrilling matches. Despite defeat the hero of the day is Jakub DYJAS with his two fantastic wins. On the winning side Tomokazu HARIMOTO prevailed against Jonathan GROTH (11:7 11:7 11:7) Dimitrij OVTCHAROV beat Kaii KONISHI (10:12 11:8 8:11 11:4 6:2) and in the decisive match MOREGARDH overcame GROTH (11:8 13:11 11:8). “It was a tough match today! In Lignano Sabbiadoro the 2nd ETTU Under 23 Paralympic stage
The activities of the ETTU Para Committee continue this year with great success. The ETTU Para Committee with the help of ETTU Vice President in charge of Para Table Tennis Sonja GREFBERG and the ETTU projects Manager Galia DVORAK are making great efforts to continue introducing events that will help the growth of the continental Para youth movement. One of the key proposals of the committee was the organization of the first u-23 Para Training Camp held in Lasko last year.Twelve months later the initiative is set to be repeated from 12 to 17 December at the Bella Italia Village in Lignano Sabbiadoro home of the Italian’s Paralympic Centre where the Italian National Team trains every day. A total of 26 athletes in wheelchairs and standing from Great Britain Latvia Finland Portugal Spain Holland and Italy will be taking part of this second edition of the camp. Great success for France at the ITTF World Youth Championships in Tunisia
ITTF World Youth Championships in Tunisia concluded yesterday with Japan’s Miyuu KIHARA and China’s LIN Shidong have emerged as U19 singles champions on an unforgettable final day of action. Flavien COTON brought home the U15 Boys’ Singles title following back-to-back wins over Japanese opposition on the final day. Surviving a tense semifinal encounter against Takumi TANIMOTO in the morning session (11-8 7-11 12-14 11-8 9-11 11-9 11-9) COTON set up a title showdown with Kazuki YOSHIYAMA later in the day. Responsible for eliminating top-ranked Alan KURMANGALIYEV in the last four YOSHIYAMA made a bright start to the final but couldn’t convert as COTON chalked up four of the six games in his favour to lift the trophy (10-12 13-11 8-11 11-5 11-6 11-9). Slovakia’s Samuel ARPAS and Hungary’s Balazs LEI clinched gold in Under 15 Boys’ Doubles Event by beating Japan’s Kazuki YOSHIYAMA and Takumi TANIMOTO in the final. French pairings Flavien COTON and Nathan LAM won bronze. Displaying excellent form in the run up to the final day Miyuu KIHARA was presented with an enormous test at the semifinal hurdle which she passed with flying colours defeating 2021 champion KUAI Man 4-1 (8-11 11-8 11-6 12-10 13-11). With the trophy in sight Kihara produced one last dazzling display to see off compatriot Miwa HARIMOTO (11-7 4-11 11-7 11-9 11-8) to confirm her status as World Youth champion and World Youth No.1. China’s LIN Shidong left Rades with the U19 Boys’ Singles title. In doing so Lin came away with a clean sweep of titles winning all four U19 titles on offer in Tunisia. French star Felix LEBRUN provided the opposition in the semifinals and gave Lin a good run for his money but saw his hopes dashed across six games (9-11 11-7 11-9 10-12 11-7 11-9). French Felix LEBRUN and Romania’s Darius MOVILEANU both clinched bronze. In Under 15 Mixed Event Alan KURMANGALIYEV of Kazakhstan and Hana GODA of Egypt beat Maria BERZOSA of Spain and Tiago ABIODUN of Portugal in the final. Bronze medalists are William BERGENBLOCK of Sweden and Natalia BOGDANOWICZ of Poland.

The draw for the final stage of the Champions League Women was held today in Luxembourg. In the quarterfinal reigning champions Poland’s KTS Enea Siarkopol Tarnobrzeg will meet Serbia’s Novi Sad whilst five time winners and last year’s runners up TTC Berlin eastside will clash with French Metz TT. Another French representative Etival Clairefontaine ASRTT will play against 2013 winners Linz AG Froschberg. Spanish UCAM Cartagena will play against third French club Saint Quentin TT.
