SF SKK El Nino Praha complete semi-final mission (VIDEO)

SF SKK El Nino Praha confirmed their place in the ETTU Europe Cup Men final with a 3-1 victory over Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 in the second leg, backing up their strong performance from the opening match.

After securing a valuable away win in Denmark, the Czech side returned home knowing they were in a good position  and they handled it with confidence. David REITSPIES got things going with a solid win over Jens LUNDQVIST, giving the host dream start, before Tomas KONECNY followed up with a dominant display against Tobias RASMUSSEN to put Praha firmly in control.

Roskilde showed some resistance, with Anders ERIKSSON beating Yevhen PRYSHCHEPA to keep their hopes alive, but the comeback never truly gained momentum. Martin SIP stepped in for the fourth match and delivered a convincing performance against Allan BENTSEN to seal the victory and send El Nino Praha through to the final.

“Our opponents changed the line-up for today’s match, but it didn’t surprise us. Once again, the first match was very important. David REITSPIES came back from 0-1 down to beat Jens LUNDQVIST, which gave us a strong start. Tomas KONECNY then delivered a really good performance against Tobias RASMUSSEN.

It’s a pity that Yevhen PRYSHCHEPA lost his match, but on the other hand I’m happy that our fourth player, Martin SIP, got the opportunity to play.

Just like last season, we have reached the final of the ETTU Europe Cup and the Czech Extraliga. Last year we lost both finals, so this time we are even more motivated to win, ideally both competitions. We believe we have a good chance, and we will go for it,” said coach Petr KAUCKY.
