National Championships: Kasper STERNBERG and Mia SKOV in Denmark

06/03/2011 – In Denmark Kasper STERNBERG won his first title in Singles by beating Fin TUGWELL in the final of the National Championships – 4:2 (8:11 11:6 11:9 5:11 11:6 11:4). In semi final BENTSEN suffered by the hands of STERNBERG – 2:4 (5:11 9:11 11:8 11:8 7:11 6:11) whilst Jonathan GROTH lost against TUGWELL- 3:4 (14:12 9:11 9:11 8:11 11:9 11:9 8:11)

Mie SKOV won the title for a seventh time sixth in the row in Odense. In the re run of the last year’s final she overcame Pernille AGERHOLM 4:0 (11:7 11:9 11:6 11:9). In semis SKOV beat Mie JACOBSEN- 4:0 (12:10 11:7 15:13 11:7) whilst Pernille AGERHOLM overcame Sabine Borre LARSEN – 4:1 (10:12 11:4 15:13 11:4 11:5).

Allan BENTSEN won 44th title at the Danish Championships. For a sixth time in the row he won the title in Mixed Doubles Event with Mie SKOV. It is his 8th in 9 years. Previously he won 43th title in Doubles with Finn TUGWELL. In the final SKOV and BENTSEN beat AGERHOLM and HYRUP- 3:1(11:8 13:11 7:11 13:11).

In Doubles Allan BENTSEN and Finn TUGWELL overcame European vice champions Jonathn GROTH and Kasper STERNBERG 3:1 (10:12 11:4 11:6 12:10) in the final. In semis GROTH and STERNBERG beat HAACK and REENBERG 3:1 (11:5 7:11 11:4 11:2) whilst HINDERSSON and KONGSGAARD suffered defeat by BENTSEN and TUGWELL 0:3 (6:11 3:11 8:11).

In the Women’s Doubles final Pernille AGERHOLM and Pernille SONDERGAARD beat last year’s champions Sabine Borre LARSEN and Susanne PEDERSEN 3:2 (7:11 11:4 11:6 13:15 12:10). In previous Round AGERHOLM and S??RGAARD beat POLK and RAMBERG – 3:0 (11:3 11:5 11:6) and CHRISTENSEN and JACOBSEN lost against BORRE and PEDERSEN 1:3 (8:11 11:8 4:11 8:11).
