National Championships: perfect day for Ieva VENSLAVICIUTE

04/03/2012 – The 82nd National championship of Lithuania concluded today in Kaunas. Competition was fierce and after three days of spiriting battles we know the names of new champions. This year National champion title won Ieva VENSLAVICIUTE. It is her second title in Lithuanian National championships. In the final with a result 4:3 (4:11 6:11 11:1 9:11 11:9 11:4 11:9) she beat Egle STUCKYTE . The third place went to two players from Vilnius Egle ORLOVAITE and the last year champion Ieva JUCEVICIUTE.

Alfredas UDRA became a champion for the first time. For the champion’s name he fought against Algirdas SKIRGAILA and won 4:1 (11:8 11:4 11:4 6:11 11:7). The third place shared Denisas STANKEVICIUS and Tomas MIKUTIS.

Ieva VENSLAVICIUTE enjoyed her success three more times. She became a champion of women’s and mixed doubles.
In women’s doubles finals Ieva VENSLAVICIUTE with Aukse GECEVICIUTE won 3:1 (11:9 11:7 4:11 13:11) against pairings from Vilnius Egle STUCKYTE and Ieva JUCEVICIUTE. Third place shared Vitalija VENCKUTE with Ugne BASKUTYTE and Aiste MACAITE with Ausra STIRBYTE.

Men’s doubles champions are Kestutis ZEIMYS with Vytas RYBAKAS. They won 3:2 (4:11 12:10 8:11 11:8 11:6) against Darius BANYS and Algirdas SKIRGAILA. Third are Arnoldas DOMEIKA and Marius BUCYS and Valdas Martinkus and Tomas MIKUTIS.

Mixed Doubles champions became Matas SKUCAS with Ieva VENSLAVICIUTE. Second place was taken by Egle STUCKYTE and Arnoldas DOMEIKA. Tomas MIKUTIS with Ausra STIRBYTE and Kestutis ZEIMYS with Vitalija VENCKUTE shared third place.
