With just less than 200 days to go for the 2012 European Table Tennis Championships in Herning, Denmark – the organization team is working hard to get this big event under way. The Denmark delegation just arrived home from the visit in the World Team Championships in Dortmund where they promoted the European Championships in Denmark.

We have two employees working full time at the moment and 10-12 volunteers who each have an area of responsibility – this is a typical Danish way of organizing big sports events as volunteering is a really big part of the way sports are organized in Denmark,” explained Event Director Jakob STAUN.
Organizers had a busy schedule in Germany.
We just visited the ITTF World Team Tabletennis Championships to promote our event in Herning in October and it was a great success. We had a marketing stand central in the expo area and handed out information material and talked to many table tennis fans.

Still fresh from nice impressions from Germany, Denmark looking forward big European Event.
In Herning at the European Championships this October we will have a great venue at the Jyske Bank Boxen where the seat capacity is 4,500 and we look forward to seeing Boxen get filled with an enthusiastic crowd. The venue is a perfect setting for us and we have high ambitions for these European Championships and we continue the good work in the months to come after a very inspiring experience seeing the setup in Dortmund. There was such a great atmosphere at the Westfalenhalle.

Denmark will offers more then Singles Events.
We will host various side events with a camping and fan zone right next to the venue. We also organize a veteran tournament and club camps for the local Danish clubs leading up to the championships,” the Danish Event Director said.
