Luxemburg is the host of the 15th Games of the Small States of Europe. The biennial, multi-sport event, launched by the Republic of San Marino, organized by and featuring the National Olympic Committees of eight European small states since 1985, started today. The Games feature competition in nine Summer Olympic sports and among them is the table tennis as well.

In Men’s Team’s Event there are four countries at the list of participants: Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco and San Marino, whilst in Women’s the list is longer for Island.
